At The Dalesman Group®, food safety isn’t just a requirement, it’s a culture. On World Food Safety Day, we’re proud to spotlight the people, systems, and values that ensure every product we deliver is safe, high-quality, and fully traceable.
A culture rooted in responsibility
Our food safety and quality culture are built on shared values, robust training, and open communication. From leadership to the production floor, every team member understands their role in protecting product integrity. Monthly briefings, annual surveys, and continuous improvement initiatives ensure that food safety remains a living, evolving part of our daily operations.
Cleaning with confidence
For products with allergen-free, gluten free, or vegan claims, we follow a rigorous cleaning validation and verification process. This includes:
- Scheduled wet clean-downs
- Visual inspections and protein swabbing by QA
- Internal and external allergen testing (including gluten, milk, mustard, and soy)
- Annual validation of rapid test kits to ensure detection thresholds are met
These steps are critical in preventing cross-contamination and maintaining consumer trust. Beyond this, an entire third of our factory is completely dedicated to being gluten free 100% of the time.
Traceability through technology
Our in-house developed TDG Systems is the digital backbone of our operations. It manages over 7,000 formulations for more than 3,000 customers, integrating barcode scanning at every stage. From goods-in to dispatch, we’re able to track every ingredient at its source, right through to its delivery.
This barcode system enables:
- Real-time tracking of ingredients and products
- Immediate identification and resolution of issues
- Full audit trails for compliance and certification
- Seamless support for allergen control and IP claims
BRCGS AA Grade — year after year
Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our consistent BRCGS AA grade certification, now maintained for twenty-one consecutive years. This achievement is made possible not only through our teams dedication, comprehensive training and rigorous testing, but by our robust Quality Management System (QMS), which includes:
- Documented procedures and training
- Internal audits and hygiene inspections
- Incident reporting and root cause analysis
- Continuous improvement through our CIN (Continuous Improvement Note) system
